Focus on the Positive – Your Thoughts Are Your Keys to Success!
Have you ever noticed this important fact? We get what we think about … whether you want it or not! Some call this the Law of Attraction.
Our minds are always active. We are always having thoughts running through our brains. So, if we think about good things, then those thoughts should expand in our lives. And if our mind is focused on problems, calamities, and pitfalls, then we will continue to have more of the same.
Believe it or not, we all have problems. No one has a perfect life. But if you dwell on the negative and the difficult issues, these will become magnified in your life.
When it comes to weight loss, thinking about what you can’t eat only leads to feelings of deprivation and self-pity.
But if you focus your attention on what you do want to achieve, you can reprogram your thinking. When you fill your heart with gratitude about what you already do have (health, family, friends), you will create positive emotions. Optimistic thinking will make you feel energized and happier. You can then easily propel yourself down the road to a slim body and a healthy life.
One of my favorite sayings is:
Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right.
-- Henry Ford
Start the day by focusing on your blessings. Then think about your desires and goals. Think of them in positive terms.
Positive thoughts create positive emotions. These feelings can infuse your being with purpose and carry over into constructive actions. When you align this strength of purpose with the new information you have learned by reading our Secrets, you will be ready to carry them out. Weight loss will naturally follow!
Think about what you can eat and what you should eat. Don’t focus on what you can’t eat. Plan to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Learn to love nature’s bounty. Think about the wonderful health benefits you will obtain from your new whole foods lifestyle. Relish the energy you gain from your new exercise routine.
Willpower works for short periods of time, but relying on willpower and self-discipline for the long term drains your energy. It doesn’t work. No one can use willpower all of the time. Feelings of denial and deprivation often erupt. Over indulging in high calorie foods and binge eating are often the result.
Think about what fuels your desire to lose weight. Then write down these desires and goals. Write them down in positive terms. Create positive daily goals and action plans.
- Plan for the foods that you will eat, and focus on them. Here are some examples:
- I will eat an apple every day.
- I will try to get at least 25 grams of fiber each day.
- I will eat at least 4 vegetables every day.
- I will eat a high protein breakfast.
- I will eat a large salad every night at dinner.
- I will have a high-protein smoothie after exercise today.
- To remain positive and on the right track, write or recite daily self-affirmations. Here are some examples:
- I am choosing only whole foods to put into my body.
- I am moving forward toward my weight loss goal.
- I have so much energy now that I am following my weight loss program.
- I exercise every day.
- I log in my food diary every day.
- I embrace health and good nutrition.
- I eat only highly nutritious, low calorie foods.
Over time, you will develop new thought patterns and habits. Your healthy lifestyle will move to automatic pilot.
When you become infused with purpose, change is easy!
